    In the central part of the reverse is a relief image of an eagle-owl sitting on an oak branch against a night sky. Along the left arc of the coin's edge is its name in Ukrainian: "PUGACH" and in Latin: "BUBO BUBO", which translates as: "Eurasian Eagle-Owl".
  • Obverse
    In the central part is the country name in Ukrainian: "UKRAINA". Above it is the Coat of Arms of Ukraine. Below it is a three-line semicircular inscription: "2 HRYVNI" - 2 (two) hryvnias and the year of mintage 2002. In the lower part, along the arc of the coin's edge, is the mintmark of the Kyiv Mint. The coin's edge features a decorative wreath element, incorporating various representatives of flora and fauna.
