Below - the year of accession of the Ottoman Sultan Abdulaziz I in Indo-Arabic numerals: "١٢٧٧" - 1277 AH (Islamic calendar) or 1861 AD. Above - the numeral: "٢" - "2", meaning the 2nd year of reign or 1862. Decorative raised denticles are placed along the rim.
