  • Reverse
In the upper part of the reverse is the crown of the Russian Empire. Below it, the denomination and monetary unit are indicated on two lines: 25 KOPEKS. This is followed by a divider element consisting of two oppositely directed lines with a bordered dot between them. Below is the year of minting — '1839'. Under the year — the abbreviation 'S.P.B.' (Saint Petersburg Mint). In the left part of the coin along the edge is a laurel branch, and in the right part an oak branch. At the base, the branches are tied with a ribbon forming a neat bow. Raised denticles are struck around the entire edge of the coin.
  • Obverse
In the central part is depicted the State Emblem of the Russian Empire — a double-headed eagle, its heads crowned with two crowns, a third, larger crown above them. On the eagle's breast is the coat of arms of Moscow — a shield with St. George the Victorious on horseback, slaying a serpent with a long spear (the serpent's head is to the right). Around the shield is the chain of the Order of St. Andrew the First-Called. On the wings are depicted the titular coats of arms: on the right — Kazan, Astrakhan, and Siberian; on the left — Polish, Taurian, and Finnish. In its right talon the eagle holds a scepter, and in its left — an orb. Under the right talon is the letter 'H', under the left — 'G'. The initials of mintmaster Nikolai Grachev. The center of the obverse is enclosed in a braided rim. In the upper part is an eight-petaled flower, visually indicating the start of the inscription: PURE SILVER 1 ZOLOTNIK 5 1/4 PARTS. The rim is decorated with short denticles.
