    In the central part on the right are large numerals 20, below them a two-line inscription in English 'EURO / CENT' – translates as 'twenty euro cents'. To the right of the numerals is the engraver's mark of Luc Luycx 'LL'. In the central part on the left are the outlines of the eurozone countries. From them, six vertical parallel lines extend upwards and downwards, with 12 stars at their ends.

    Along the rim are 12 five-pointed stars, symbolizing the eurozone countries. At the bottom is the name of the issuing country in Italian 'CITTA' DEL VATICANO' – 'Vatican City'. On the right are the mint year 2007 and the letter 'R' – the mintmark of the Rome Mint. In the central part is a portrait of Pope Benedict XVI facing forward and inscriptions in Italian: 'M.A.C. INC' – the personal mark of engraver Maria Angela Cassol and the signature of the artist Daniela Longo 'D.L.'.
