    In the central part, within a circle of silver-colored metal, a female runner is depicted with her arms raised victoriously, holding a flowing ribbon. To the left of the athlete, within the circle, is the flag of England. To her right is the inscription: "£2" - two pounds. Above, to the right, and below along the rim is the English inscription: "XVII COMMONWEALTH GAMES", translated into Russian as "XVII COMMONWEALTH GAMES", the mintage year 2002, and the monogram "MB" of engraver Matthew Bonaccorsi.
