Approximately at the position of the number eight on the dial is the inscription: '20 KČ' - 20 Korun. Along the edge of the coin is the inscription: 'ROK 2000' (Year 2000 in Czech), repeated eight times. An eleven-sided polygon is inscribed within the circle of the rim.
Obverse In the central part is one of the elements of the Czech coat of arms – a lion rampant. Along the upper arc of the coin's edge, from left to right, runs the text in Czech: 'ČESKÁ REPUBLIKA', which translates to 'Czech Republic'. Below the lion is the mintmark of the mint in Jablonec nad Nisou. In the lower part, along the arc of the coin's edge and separated by dots from the inscription, is the year of issue 2000. An eleven-sided polygon is inscribed within the circle of the rim.
