On the right side is the left-facing profile of Roman Emperor Flavius Valentinian. On the left, against a backdrop of a lake and city buildings on the opposite shore, a hand is depicted holding a shell. Centrally, on the water's surface, is the Latin name of the port 'BRIGANTIUM' (Brigantium) and the year of issue '2012'. Along the arc of the coin's edge on the left and top is the country name in German 'REPUBLIK ÖSTERREICH' (Republic of Austria), at the bottom is the inscription '20 EURO' (20 euro), flanked on both sides by a dot, and on the right in Latin is the emperor's name 'VALENTINIAN I.'
