In the central part of the reverse is a male superb lyrebird facing left in relief; to the left, against the background of its plumage, the number 10. Below the lyrebird's foot are the designer's initials 'SD' for Stuart Devlin.
Obverse
In the central part is the right-facing profile of Queen Elizabeth II of Great Britain wearing a crown. In the left part, following the curve of the coin's edge, is the monarch's name 'ELIZABETH II'. On the right are the country name and year of minting 'AUSTRALIA 1985'. In the neck truncation are the initials of the British sculptor Raphael David Maklouf - 'RDM'.
