  • Reverse
    In the central part of the reverse is a relief image of a fish facing right. Below the fish's tail is the monogram 'PM' - the mark of engraver Percy Metcalfe. Below that, the inscription: 'flóirín', and further below: '2s' - florin (2 shillings). The edge of the coin features decorative raised denticles.
  • Obverse
    In the central part is an image of a harp, the coat of arms of Ireland. To the left of the harp is the number 19, to the right – 28, indicating the year of mintage 1928. Along the left and right edges near the rim is the country's name in Irish: 'saorstát éireann' - 'Irish Free State'. The edge of the coin features decorative raised denticles.
