    In the central part, a Streamertail Hummingbird is depicted facing left, hovering over two flowers. The bird's beak is inserted into a bud. To the left, above and below along the rim is the English text 'TWENTY FIVE CENTS', with the number 25 below.

    In the center is the coat of arms of Jamaica: a heraldic shield bearing a red cross with five pineapples, above the shield a crocodile on a log, below it a helmet with mantling, at the base of the arms the motto in English 'Out of many, one people'. Flanking the shield are supporters: on the left a woman with a basket of fruit, on the right a man with a bow. Below the coat of arms is the mintmark of the Franklin Mint, USA – 'FM'. The coin's edge is toothed, with inscriptions along it: at the top the English name of the island nation – 'JAMAICA', at the bottom the year of minting '1976'.
