In the central part is the national coat of arms: a shanyrak (the upper domed part of a yurt) in the form of a crosspiece inscribed in a circle, from which support rays radiate, flanked by mythical winged horses, tulpars. At the top, between the wings, is a five-pointed star; at the bottom is the country name 'KAZAKSTAN'. Below the coat of arms is the large number 50, flanked on both sides by relief national patterns, below it the inscription 'TENGE', flanked on both sides by relief elements in the form of dots. To the right of the coat of arms is the 'KUB' mintmark of the Kazakhstan Mint.
