    In the central part, within a circle, a Northern Cardinal bird is depicted facing right, perched on a flowering branch, with fledglings in front. The central part of the reverse features a relief design executed in color. To the left, under the flowers, are the Latin letters 'AN' - the artist's mark of Arnold Nogy. Along the edge of the coin are inscriptions in English: at the top the country name 'CANADA', at the bottom the inscription '25 CENTS' and the year of mintage '2008'.

    In the center is the right-facing profile of Queen Elizabeth II of Great Britain. In the truncation of the portrait are the Latin letters 'SB' - the artist's mark of Susanna Blunt. To the right and left of the portrait, split into two parts, is a Latin inscription: on the right - 'ELIZABETH II', on the left - 'D∙ G∙ REGINA' (Elizabeth II, by the Grace of God, Queen). Below is the mint mark – a stylized maple leaf within a circle.
