    In the center, within a circle of raised dots, is the numeral 1. Along the dots, English text: at the top – the name of the British colony in Southeast Asia on the Malay Peninsula - 'STRAITS SETTLEMENTS', at the bottom – one cent and the year of issue - 'ONE CENT 1872', separated by two raised dots. The edge is decorated with decorative denticles.

    In the center is the left-facing profile of Alexandrina Victoria. Along the rim, split into two parts, English text: on the right - 'QUEEN', on the left - 'VICTORIA', which translates to 'QUEEN VICTORIA'. At the bottom – the Birmingham Mint mark 'H'. The coin's edge features denticle elements.
