    A six-pointed star is inscribed around the central hole. Around the upper rim is the inscription 'BRITISH WEST AFRICA ∙1935∙'. The edge is decorated with decorative denticles.
  • Obverse
    A central hole is surrounded by the inscription 'ONE HALFPENNY' above in English and 'نُصْفپَنّي' (nusf penny) below in Arabic. Along the rim, split into two parts, is the Latin legend 'GEORGIVS V' on the left and 'REX ET IND:IMP:' (King and Emperor of India) on the right, with a stylized ornament below each part. Above is the Crown, symbol of the British Empire. The edge of the coin features decorative raised denticles.
