In the central part, an inscription in four lines: 30 KOPIEK 2 ZLOTE. Below the inscription is the year of mintage — 1838. Along the arc of the coin's edge is the inscription: CHISTAGO SEREBRA 1 ZOL•25 1/2 DOLI. The rim is decorated with patterned teeth.
  • Obverse
The center of the obverse is occupied by a double-headed eagle — the coat of arms of the Russian Empire. Both heads of the eagle bear crowns, and a third, larger crown is between them. All three crowns are connected by a ribbon. On the eagle's breast is the coat of arms of Moscow — a shield with St. George the Victorious on horseback, slaying a serpent with a long spear (the serpent's head is to the right). Around the shield is the chain of the Order of St. Andrew the First-Called. Heraldic shields on the wings: Left wing: Polish, Taurida, Finnish. Right wing: Kazan, Astrakhan, Siberian. In the right talon is a scepter, and below it the letter 'M'. In the left talon is an orb, and below it the letter 'W'. Together the letters indicate the Warsaw Mint. The coin's rim consists of teeth.
