The central part of the reverse features a relief image of a Lali drum. Above it is the numeral: 5. Below, the English text 'CENTS' is struck. The coin's edge is decorated with decorative denticles.
Obverse
The central part features the right-facing profile of Queen Elizabeth II of the United Kingdom. In the left part, along the upper edge, is the English inscription 'ELIZABETH II'. On the right are the country name and year of issue - 'FIJI 1981'.
