    At the top, along the rim, are depicted grape clusters on vine branches. In the center is a frontal head of a Grant's gazelle. At the bottom, left and right, are ears of corn. Below is an inscription in French: "TERRITOIRE DU CAMEROUN", which translates to "TERRITORY OF CAMEROON".
  • Obverse
    Following the curve of the coin's edge from left to right is the text in French: «REPUBLIQUE FRANÇAISE UNION FRANÇAISE», which translates to "FRENCH REPUBLIC FRENCH UNION". In the center is the left-facing profile of Marianne – a young woman wearing a Phrygian cap, against a background of 4 ships. Below is the year of issue, 1948. To the left of Marianne's portrait is the inscription: "L.Bazor", denoting the designer's initials: Lucien Georges Bazor.
