    In the central part, there is a radiant star. To the right and left of the star, three small stars are arranged in a row; at the base is the year '1888', enclosed by the Latin letters 'LW' - the initials of the Belgian medallist Leopold Wiener. Along the upper edge arc is the denomination in French - '10 Ces', with dots beneath the letters 'es'.

    In the central part is a hole, around which five monograms of Leopold II form a five-pointed star. The monogram is a crowned, mirror-image Latin letter 'L' facing left. Along the edge arc of the coin is the text 'LEOPOLD II KING OF THE BELGIANS SOVEREIGN OF THE INDEPENDENT STATE OF THE CONGO' in French: 'LEOPOLD II ROI DES BELGES SOUV. DE L'ETAT INDEP. DU CONGO'. The edge of the coin and the legend are bordered by decorative raised dots.
