In the central part of the reverse is a relief design facing left: a personified image of Britannia as a seated maiden, holding a trident point-up in her left hand, and with her right hand supporting a shield standing on edge at her feet. Along the edge of the coin are inscriptions in English: at the top '20 YEARS BRITANNIA 1987 - 2007', at the bottom the weight and fineness - '1/2G .99999', the metal 'FINEST GOLD' and the inscription '1 DOLLAR'.
Obverse
Centered is the right-facing profile of Queen Elizabeth II of Great Britain wearing a crown. Below the neck truncation of the monarch is the sculptor's initials 'IRB' - Ian Rank-Broadley. Along the rim are inscriptions in English: on the left the monarch's name 'ELIZABETH II', on the right the country name 'FIJI' and the year of minting '2007'.
