In the central part, there is a three-line inscription: 50 PENNIÄ 1916. Along the left and right edges of the coin is a wreath of oak branches, which do not meet at the top. At the base, the branches are tied with a ribbon forming a double bow. The coin's rim is decorated with raised denticles.
  • Obverse
In the central part is depicted the full Coat of Arms of the Grand Duchy of Finland — a double-headed eagle, its heads crowned with two crowns, a third, larger crown above them. All are connected by the ribbon of the Order of St. Andrew the Apostle the First-Called. On the eagle's chest is a shield with the titular coat of arms of the Grand Duke of Finland, crowned with a princely crown. Around the shield is the chain of the Order of St. Andrew the Apostle the First-Called. In its right talon, the eagle holds a scepter, and in its left — an orb. Under the left talon is the mark of the Director of the Helsingfors Mint — the letter 'S', Isak Gustaf Sundell. The rim is decorated with denticles.
