    The central part of the reverse features a relief image of Britannia, the personified symbol of Great Britain. Below her is a floral ornament. Along the upper edge of the coin, from left to right, is the inscription: 'BRITTANNIAR:REG:FID:DEF:', which translates from English as: 'Queen of the Britains, Defender of the Faith'. The edge of the coin is decorated with dentils.

    The central part features a left-facing profile portrait of Queen Victoria. Around the circumference along the rim are inscriptions, on the left, top, and right: 'VICTORIA DEI GRATIA', which translates from English as 'Victoria, by the Grace of God'; at the bottom is the year of minting, 1851. The edge of the coin is decorated with dentils.
