    Along the lower edge, the country name 'CONGO BELGE' (Belgian Congo) in French. In the central part of the reverse is a relief image of a palm tree. Beneath its crown, separated by the trunk, are the letters 'IF' denoting 'one franc', and the year of minting '1920'.

    Around the edge of the coin are decorative raised dots. In the left part, along the edge, the French inscription 'ALBERT ROI', and on the right 'DES BELGES' — translated as 'Albert King of the Belgians'. In the central part is a left-facing profile portrait of the King. Below the portrait truncation are the letters 'J. LAGAZ' — the engraver's mark for Jules Lagae.
