In the central part, an inscription in four lines: 15КОПѢЕКЪ1ZLOTY. The number 15 is flanked on both sides by floral rosettes. Below the inscription is the year of mintage — 1836. Along the edge of the reverse, an arched inscription reads: ЧИСТАГО СЕРЕБРА 60 3/4 ДОЛИ (Pure Silver 60 3/4 Dolya). The rim is decorated with denticles pointing towards the center.
  • Obverse
In the central part is the State Emblem of the Russian Empire — a double-headed eagle, its heads crowned with two coronets, a third, larger crown above them. On the eagle's breast is the coat of arms of Moscow — a shield depicting St. George the Victorious on horseback, slaying a serpent with a long spear (the serpent's head is to the right). Around the shield is the chain of the Order of St. Andrew the First-Called. On the wings are the titular coats of arms: on the right — Kazan, Astrakhan, and Siberian; on the left — Polish, Taurican, and Finnish. Above the eagle are the cursive Latin letters 'D' and 'E'. In the eagle's right talon is a scepter, and below the talon the letter 'Н'. In the left talon is an orb, and below the talon the letter 'Г'. Together these letters form the initials of mintmaster Nikolai Grachev. The rim is decorated with denticles pointing towards the center.
