Below the inscription is a decorative divider in the form of two ornamental lines with a small dot between them. Below the divider—the coin's year of minting 1840. Lower still, the mint mark—the letters S.P.B. The rim is decorated with dots.

    The center is occupied by the monogram of Emperor Nicholas I, crowned with an imperial crown. The rim is decorated with large dots.
