    In the central part, an inscription in Belgian French '1Fr' (1 Franc), flanked left and right by five-pointed stars. A two-line inscription 'Bank of the Belgian Congo': above in French 'BANQUE DU CONGO BELGE', below in Dutch 'BANK VAN BELGISCH CONGO'. Along the edge arc, decorative elements in the form of dentils.

    In the center, an elephant is depicted (facing left). In the lower part along the edge arc with dentil elements, the mint year '1946'. To the right of the elephant, the engraver's initials Armand Bonnetain – 'AB'.
