    A six-pointed star is described around the central hole. The inscription 'BRITISH WEST AFRICA ∙1944∙' is placed along the rim, divided into six segments by the rays of the star. The edge is decorated with decorative denticles.

    Central hole. Around it, the inscription 'ONE TENTH OF A PENNY' in English above and in Arabic ('عُشِر الپَنّي') below. Above is a crown, symbol of the British Empire. Along the rim, the Latin inscription 'GEORGE VI KING AND EMPEROR OF INDIA' is split: left, the monarch's name 'GEORGIVS VI'; right, the title 'REX ET IND: IMP:'. A stylized ornament is below each part of the inscription. The coin's edge features decorative raised denticles.
