    In the central part are two military men in 18th-century clothing; in the foreground, an officer with a spyglass in his hand, in the background – one with a rifle in his hands. To their right is an old sailing vessel, turned stern to the viewer. Below the ship is '$ 10' - 10 dollars. In the upper part, along the edge of the coin in an arc, is the text: 'CAPT. JAMES COOK'. To the left, below, and right along the rim is an image resembling the markings of a compass rose.

    In the central part is the right-facing profile of Queen Elizabeth II. On the truncation of the portrait's neck is the monogram 'RDM' of the engraver Raphael David Maklouf. To the left and right along the rim are inscriptions in English: 'ELIZABETH II' and 'COOK ISLANDS'. In the lower part, along the edge of the coin in an arc, is the year of mintage 1994.
