Below them are the dates: 1987-2007. Along the upper edge in an arc is the text: 'CANADA' - the country name in English and 'DOLLAR' - '1 dollar', separated by a dot. Along the lower edge in an arc are the dates 1911-2011. To the right near the rim, above the water line, is the monogram 'RRC' - the mark of engraver Robert-Ralph Carmichael.

The inner field is shaped as a twelve-sided polygon. To the left and right along the edge is the text 'ELIZABETH II D. G. REGINA'. Translation: 'Elizabeth II, by the grace of God, Queen'. In the center is a portrait of Queen Elizabeth II (the fourth type), facing right. On the Queen's right shoulder is the monogram of the portrait's author.
