At the top, along the edge of the coin in an arc, is the text: "REGI BALATONI HAJOK", translating from Hungarian as "Old Balaton Ships". In the central part are two old ships. To the right and below them are the names: "Helka" and "Kelen", connected by a curved line. Below them, near the lower edge of the rim, is the year 1891.
Obverse
To the left and top, along the rim, is the inscription: "MAGYAR COZTARSASAG", which translates from Hungarian as the Republic of Hungary. In the center is depicted a sailing regatta: three sailing yachts at sea against a backdrop of mountains. In the foreground on the right side is a bush of a grass plant; within the grass leaves near the right rim is the monogram of the engraver Istvan Bartos. Below the regatta image is "2000 FORINT" - 2000 forints, the mintage year 1997, and near the lower edge of the rim "ВР." - indicating the Budapest Mint.
