    In the central part - a rhombus containing the inscription '5 piastres' in Arabic: "٥ قروش". Below the rhombus is an ornament. To the left and right of the image are two five-pointed stars. Along the arc of the lower edge is an inscription in calligraphy: "الجمهورية السورية", which translates as: "SYRIAN REPUBLIC". The edge of the coin features decorative elements in the form of denticles.
  • Obverse
    In the central part is depicted the coat of arms of Syria - the Qurayshi hawk facing left, with a shield on its chest. Below is the year gap, written in Eastern Arabic numerals: "۱٩٥٦١٣٧٥" - "1375 - 1956". The edge of the coin features decorative raised denticles.
