In the center - 40 para in Ottoman script: "٤٠ پاره". Below - the year of accession of the Ottoman Sultan Mehmed V: "١٣٢٧" - 1327 AH (Hijri year) or 1909 AD. Decorative raised denticles are placed along the rim.

In the center - the Tughra, to the right - the Sultan's epithet: "رشاط" - "RESHAD". Below, a two-line inscription in Ottoman script: "٥ سنة", which translates as: "5th YEAR". Decorative raised denticles are placed along the rim.
