Reverse In the central part, a stylized image of a 'Wounded' Earth with a starry sky around it. Along the edge of the coin from left to right runs the Italian text 'LA TERRA FERITA DALL'INUTILE STRAGE' (The Earth wounded by useless slaughter), below the artist's mark of Jorio Vivarelli 'J. Vivarelli'.
Obverse In the center, within a circle, is a part of the coat of arms of San Marino: three towers on the peaks of Mount Titano, each topped with an ostrich feather (extending beyond the circle), below them the inscription 'L. 100' (100 lire), and further below the engraver's surname Guerrino Mattia Monassi – 'Monassi inc'. Along the rim, the country name 'Republic of San Marino' is split into two parts: left 'REPUBBLICA', right 'DI SAN MARINO', below the mint year '1977', flanked on both sides by a dot. All inscriptions are in Italian.
