Obverse Along the edge of the coin from left to right runs the Spanish text 'BANCO CENTRAL DE RESERVA DEL PERU', which translates to 'Central Reserve Bank of Peru'. The year of minting '2016' is below. In the central part is the image of the 'main' coat of arms: a heraldic shield divided into three parts. In the upper left field, a vicuña facing right (symbol of fauna); in the right, a cinchona tree (flora); in the lower, a golden cornucopia with coins (mineral wealth). Above the shield is a civic crown in the form of a laurel wreath. On the sides, the shield is surrounded by a wreath of palm and laurel branches, tied with a ribbon.
