Reverse
In the central part, Soviet soldiers from the Great Patriotic War are depicted marching in formation. The image is framed on the sides by stripes that converge at the bottom to form the Latin letter 'V'. To the left of the image is an eight-line inscription in Ukrainian: '60 РОКІВ ПЕРЕМОГИ У ВЕЛИКІЙ ВІТЧИЗНЯНІЙ ВІЙНІ 1941-1945', which translates to '60th ANNIVERSARY OF VICTORY IN THE GREAT PATRIOTIC WAR 1941-1945'.
Obverse
In the central part is the numeral '1', above it the country name in Ukrainian: 'УКРАЇНА'. Above the country name is the Coat of Arms of Ukraine. Below the numeral is a semi-circular inscription in Ukrainian: 'ГРИВНЯ' - 1 hryvnia. The edge of the coin features a pattern executed in national traditions. On the right side of the pattern is the mintmark of the Kyiv Mint, at the bottom is the year of issue 2005.
