Obverse
Along the upper edge of the coin, the Dutch text 'MUNT VAN CURAÇAO' is inscribed, translating to 'COIN OF CURAÇAO', with the mint year '1948' below, flanked by relief elements of a fish on the left and a small tree on the right. The central disk is framed by raised dots. In the central part, against a background of horizontal reeding, is depicted the profile of a standing crowned lion with its tail raised and tongue out. In its left paw, it holds arrows; in its right, a sword.
