Reverse In the upper part, following the curve of the coin's edge, is the English text 'EAST AFRICA'. Below is the year of issue '1950', flanked on both sides by raised elements in the form of elongated diamonds. In the central part above the hole is the number 10, with crossed elephant tusks on either side.
Obverse Around the edge of the coin are decorative raised dots. On the left side, following the curve of the coin's edge, are the English inscriptions: 'GEORGIVS' and 'SEXTVS REX', separated by a British crown, translating to 'George VI King'. In the central part below the round hole is the inscription 'TEN CENTS'.
