    In the central part, against the background of the republic's territorial outline, the inscription '27 febrero 1976', translated from Spanish as 'February 27, 1976', the independence day. To the right of the map is a reduced coat of arms, below it the anniversary of the commemorative date '27-02-2004' — February 27, 2004.

    Along the upper edge of the coin, text in Spanish: '★ REPUBLICA ARABE SAHARAUI DEMOKRATIKA', translated as 'Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic'. Below is the year of minting '2004'. In the central part is the coat of arms of the SADR: two crossed rifles with the republic's flags, above them — a red crescent and star — symbols of Islam. The coat of arms is framed by two olive branches on both sides. On the motto ribbon in Arabic is the motto 'حرية ديمقراطية وحدة' — 'Freedom, Democracy, Unity'.
