    In the central part, the text '2 EURO' is displayed horizontally. The lettering is set against a map of the European continent. Above and below the map are six lines with five-pointed stars. Below the letter 'O' are the crossed initials of the designer Luc Luycx, the Latin letters 'LL'.
  • Obverse
    On the inner disc, against the background of the National Bank building, are sculptures of Mercury with a staff and Fortuna with a cornucopia, carved on the bas-relief of the main entrance portal. To the left are the years: the bank's foundation '1816' and the minting year '2016'. Around the disc are inscriptions in German: at the top the country name 'REPUBLIK ÖSTERREICH' (Republic of Austria), to the left, bottom, and right the issue theme '200 JAHRE OESTERREICHISCHE NATIONALBANK' (200 Years of the Austrian National Bank). Around the outer edge are twelve five-pointed stars.
