In the central part, an inscription in two lines: KOPEYKI SEREBROM. Above the inscription, the denomination designation—the numeral 2 flanked on both sides by floral rosettes. Below the inscription is a decorative divider consisting of two ornamental lines with a small rectangular diamond between them. Below the divider—the coin's year of mintage 1840. Further below, the mint mark—the letters S.P.B. The rim is decorated with dots. - Obverse
The center is occupied by the monogram of Emperor Nicholas I, crowned with an imperial crown. The rim is decorated with large dots.
