    In the upper part, along the edge of the coin, the English text 'EAST AFRICA'. Below, the year of mintage '1945', flanked on both sides by rosettes in the form of elongated diamonds. In the central part above the hole, the number 10, with crossed tusks on either side.

    Around the edge of the coin are decorative raised dots. In the left part, along the edge, English inscriptions: 'GEORGIVS VI' and 'REX ET IND: IMP:', separated by a British crown, translating to 'George VI King and Emperor of India'. In the central part below the round hole, the inscription 'TEN CENTS'.
