The center of the coin is occupied by the monogram of Peter I — four crossed letters 'P' (Cyrillic 'П'), between which are four signs 'İ' (I with a dot above). Inside the monogram on the left are the first two digits of the year '17', and on the right — '24' (1724), separated by the crossing point of the monogram's letters. Around the entire circumference of the coin's edge is an inscription, divided by four imperial crowns: МОНЕТА ♚ НОВАѦ ♚ ЦЕНА ♚ РꙊБЛЬ ♚. The rim of the coin features a twisted border.
  • Obverse
The center of the obverse features a right-facing bust portrait of Peter I, crowned with a laurel wreath. Below the sleeve's edge are the letters 'OK', the initials of the engraver Osip Kalashnikov. Around the portrait is the text: ПЕТРЪ А ИМПЕРАТОРЪ IСАМОДЕРЖЕЦЪ ВСЕРОССИIСКИI. The rim has a braided rope appearance.
