    In the central part, against a cross, the middle coat of arms of Portugal: an armillary sphere, within which is the lesser coat of arms of the country. To the right, top, and left, the state name in Portuguese - 'REPÚBLICA•PORTUGUESA' (REPUBLIC OF PORTUGAL). At the bottom, the year of minting '1969', flanked on both sides by flowers. The edge is decorated with decorative denticles.

    In the central part, the coat of arms of the Portuguese colony of Angola is depicted: an armillary sphere with five towers; on the sphere - a heraldic shield, in the left half of which are five shields, in the right - an elephant and a zebra, below - waves. In the upper part, along the arc of the coin's edge, the colony's name 'Angola' in Portuguese - 'ANGOLA', below - '2$50' (2.50 escudos), left and right are relief flowers. The coin's edge features decorative raised denticles.
