    The central part features the denomination '2'. Below it is the name of the monetary unit: 'КОПѢЙКИ' (KOPEKS). Below the name are two pointed lines directed in opposite directions with a dot between them. Under the lines is the abbreviation 'С.М.' (Suzun Mint).

    The central part depicts the State Emblem of the Russian Empire – a double-headed eagle with wings spread and lowered. Above the eagle's heads is the Imperial Crown. On the eagle's breast is the coat of arms of Moscow – a shield with St. George the Victorious on horseback, slaying a serpent with a long spear (the serpent's head is to the right). The eagle holds thunderbolts and a torch in its right talon and a laurel wreath in its left, both entwined with the ribbon of the Order of St. Andrew the Apostle the First-Called. Below the eagle is the year of mintage '1837.'.
