    The central part of the coin features the horizontal denomination inscription "KOPEKS", above which the denomination '20' is displayed in large font. Below the word "KOPEKS", centered horizontally, is the date "1927" with a dot beneath it. The coin field is framed by a pair of wheat ears, symmetrically curving along the rim. The stems feature so-called 'knots'—seven sections where two dots are marked by lines. At the top of the coin field, the stems are joined.
  • Obverse
    The center of the coin field is occupied by the State Emblem of the USSR in the version approved in 1923. The ribbon encircling the ears has seven turns. On six of them, the standard version of the emblem bears the inscription "Workers of the world, unite!" in the languages of the peoples of the republics that formed the Soviet Union in December 1922. The seventh ribbon on the emblem serves a connecting function. On the coin's emblem, the inscriptions on the wreaths are replaced by one large circular inscription "PROLETARIANS OF ALL COUNTRIES, UNITE!", in the break of which, at the bottom of the coin field, the issuer of the currency is indicated: "U.S.S.R.". The inscription and the emblem are separated by a line, which is interrupted at the point of the issuer's designation.
