    The central part features the coat of arms of the Kingdom of Spain. To the left of the shield is the numeral 2, to the right the letter 'S' - 2 escudos. In the upper part, along the edge of the coin, is a Latin inscription: 'IN.UTROQ.FELIX.AUSPICE.DEO.I.H.', which translates to 'Successful in both worlds under the auspices of Jesus Christ'. Along the lower edge is the mint mark for Mexico City. The coin's edge features decorative denticles.

    The central part features a right-facing profile of King Ferdinand VII of Spain. To the left and right along the edge is the text: 'FERD.VII.D.G.HISP.ET IND.R.', which translates from Latin as 'Ferdinand VII by the Grace of God, King of Spain and the Indies'. In the lower part, separated by dots, is the mint year 1814. The coin's edge features decorative denticles.
