Along the edge arc, text: at the top the country name in Spanish 'REPUBLICA DE PANAMA' (Republic of Panama), at the bottom the year of minting '2005'. In the central part, the country's coat of arms. It features a heraldic shield flanked by flags. Above it, a South American harpy eagle (facing right) with wings spread, holding in its beak the Latin motto 'PRO MUNDI BENEFICIO' (for the benefit of the world); above the bird are ten five-pointed stars.

In the center, an image of the bridge over the Abajo River in the historic Panama Viejo district. Along the rim, inscriptions in Spanish: at the top 'VEINTICINCO CENTESIMOS' (twenty-five centesimos), at the bottom 'PUENTE DEL REY' (King's Bridge).
