Reverse

Along the edge of the coin from left to right is a laurel wreath. The rim of the coin features decorative elements in the form of semicircles.
Obverse
In the central part, the right-facing profile of Chilean national hero Bernardo O'Higgins Riquelme. To the right, his name in Spanish in two lines: "BERNARDO O'HIGGINS". On the truncation of the bust, the designer's initials Maurice René G. Thénot: "M. Thénot". To the left and right along the edge, text in Spanish: "REPUBLICA DE CHILI" - "REPUBLIC OF CHILE". The rim of the coin features a decorative raised pattern of semicircles.
