Reverse The central part features the denomination—the numeral 2. Above the numeral is the imperial crown. Below the denomination numeral is a two-line inscription: KOPEYKI. Further below is a horizontal straight line and the abbreviation S.P.B. (Saint Petersburg Mint). In the left part of the reverse near the edge is a laurel branch, and in the right part—an oak branch. At the base, the branches are tied together with a ribbon. Raised denticles are struck along the edge of the coin.
Obverse The center of the obverse is occupied by the lesser coat of arms of the Russian Empire—a double-headed eagle with wings spread. The eagle's heads bear crowns, and a third, larger crown is placed above and between the heads. On the eagle's breast is the coat of arms of Moscow—a shield depicting Saint George the Victorious on horseback, slaying a serpent with a long spear (the serpent's head is to the right). Surrounding the shield is the chain of the Order of St. Andrew the First-Called. In its right talon, the eagle holds a scepter, and in its left—an orb. Below the eagle is the year of minting "1828.". The rim is decorated with denticles.
