In the central part is a double-headed eagle with outstretched wings, the eagle's heads are in a halo, above them a crown, on its chest the crowned coat of arms of Austria. Along the arc of the coin's edge is a Latin inscription on the right and left: 'ARCH∙AUST∙D∙BU∙C∙TYR∙1748' (Archduchess of Austria, Duchess of Burgundy, Countess of Tyrol 1748). Below, the numeral 1 is framed by the eagle's tail feathers. The coin's edge features decorative raised denticles.

In the center is the right-facing profile of Archduchess of Austria Maria Theresa Walburga Amalia Christina. Along the arc of the coin's edge is a Latin text: on the left and right 'M∙THERES∙D:G∙R∙I∙GE∙HU∙BO∙R∙' (Maria Theresa, by the Grace of God, Roman Empress of Germany, Queen of Hungary, Bohemia). The coin's edge features decorative raised denticles.
