Reverse In the central part, a two-line inscription in English: 'ONE CENT'. On either side of it are maple leaves - the national symbol of Canada. Along the upper edge arc is the country name in English, separated by an ornament: 'CANADA'. Along the lower edge arc is the year of issue: '1922'.
Obverse In the central part, the left-facing profile of George V, King of Great Britain and Ireland. Around the edge of the coin is a Latin inscription: 'GEORGIVS V DEI GRA: REX ET IND: IMP:' - George V by the Grace of God, King and Emperor of India.
